Nieuwe vrijwilliger Mission House

De Diaconie steunt al jaren het Mission House, waar jongeren uit het buitenland een jaar lang wonen en ervaring opdoen met diaconaal vrijwilligerswerk. En andersom wordt de Diaconie geholpen door een jongere die meehelpt in ons werk. Dit jaar is Sandy uit Engeland betrokken bij de Augustanahof. We vroegen hem zich aan u voor te stellen.

'Hello! My name is Sandy, I'm 24 years old and I've travelled to Amsterdam from the Isle of Wight, just off the southern coast of the U.K.

I love football and support Man City and Dunfermline, I'm looking forward to watching Ajax play on the rare occasion there's some free time. I'm quite keen on music and love to play the drums and will often be tapping without realising!

I've come to the Mission House to find out a bit more about me and my faith and to be challenged in unique social action projects. I will be at the Augustanahof on Thursday mornings for the next eight months and look forward to spending time with the residents, helping out with odd jobs they need doing, improving my Dutch and much more!'

Sandy is in Amsterdam van september 2017 - juni 2018.
